Learn the Foundation of Piano & Organ Improvisation by Szymon Jakubowski

Course details:

  • 15 online group lessons (each lesson 60min) on classical improvisation
  • online lessons via Zoom every Wednesday at 4:00 pm CET
  • each lesson will be recorded, you will not miss any of them
  • for beginners and intermediates
  • each lesson includes elements of repertoire, choral, partimento, improvisation on theme
  • homework assignments sent in the form of an audio file
  • feedback during and after the lesson

What you will learn:

  • harmonization of choral melodies, partimenti and other themes
  • planing your improvisation
  • improvisation of various short forms in baroque style using typical models and schematas

Szymon Jakubowski

Szymon Jakubowski, born in Poland in 1981, is a pianist, organist and improviser. Since 2001 he lives in Berlin (Germany) where he studied piano, organ and improvisation at the Hanns Eisler University of Music and University of the Arts Berlin. Since many years, as a laureate of piano and organ improvisation competitions, he actively performs concerts which are mostly based on classical improvisation. In addition to his concert activities, Szymon Jakubowski has many years of educational experience. He is currently teaching practical piano skills at the Leipzig University of Music and Theater and organ improvisation at the University of Arts in Berlin.
